6 Steps to Take to Scale Your Business

6 Steps to Take to Scale Your Business

Contrary to what it seems, scaling isn’t just about getting more clients and making more money.

Scaling a business is about deliberately and internationally expanding and growing.

It’s not about blowing up one day and celebrating while simultaneously wondering “omg what do I do now?”

It’s knowing what you’re doing before you get there… because you planned to get there.

In this blog post, we take a look at 6 steps to take to scale your business to new levels.

#1 Revisit your why

First things first. Go back to the beginning.

Chances are this has changed. Your business has changed. YOU have changed.

Revisit the reason you do what you do. You may also revisit your target market at this point, especially since you’re planning to take big actions.

#2 Determine your goals

As your business grows, your goals should too. So before you put any solid plans in place, it’s important to determine your goals for your business.

Chances are this is about more than just making more money. What do you want to accomplish by scaling? Who do you want to reach? Who do you want to help? What impact do you want to make by scaling your business?

Another reason to do this before making big moves? It helps you determine if scaling is right for you. You don’t necessarily need a huge audience to make a big impact. So understanding what you really want out of your business and for your legacy will help you make that decision.

#3 Map out your processes and systems

Now that you know your why and your goals, it’s time to get down to the nitty gritty… the details. In other words: You’ve determined your WHY, now it’s time to plan out your HOW.

You’re either going to love this if you’re detail oriented, or hate it if you’re not. Either way, this is going to be an essential part of scaling.

Take a look at the processes and systems you currently have in place. Will they be able to grow as you grow? Also look at other areas in the backend of your business that can be systematized. As you’re growing is the perfect time to automate tasks in your biz!

#4 Uplevel your products and offers

Next up, your products and offers! You might already have a lot in place, but take a look at what you have to offer and brainstorm some ways they can grow. Can you welcome more people into your current offers? Or can you launch more times throughout the year?

If not, will you be able to add in more offers, more products or take on more clients? When you’re scaling, we’re not just talking about expanding your reach, you want to make sure you can realistically serve more people.

#5 Create a growth plan

Speaking of expanding your reach, how will you do that? It’s time to think out of the Instagram box. Will you take on new platforms like YouTube or TikTok? What about starting a podcast, working with other boss babes, or doing collab projects?

You don’t have to know your exact path (leave room for fun and exciting surprises!) but it’s important to have some idea of how you’re going to start growing and reaching more people so you can start taking immediate action.

#6 Hire a team

Lastly, hire help! Scaling a business is a big job, one you’re likely going to need help with. You can’t possibly build an empire without the support of a team that’s got your back.

This step can feel overwhelming so my suggestion is to start by making a list of the things that you can outsource (hint: look at your processes, systems and growth plan first).

What tasks can you hand over to a highly skilled assistant? Even if it’s not something you want to outsource now, if it can be outsourced, put it on the list. As you continue growing, your time will become even more valuable than it is now. Outsource what you can, when you can and keep adding to the list. Trust me, your business (and your sanity) will thank me!

Intentionally scaling your business is totally possible… with a little planning! Following these steps will help you set the foundation for expanding your business in a way that makes sense and feels so good.
