Okay, so you love the idea of a “hybrid” offer that blends your expertise with helpful templates. I hear you. But what does that actually look like in practice? How do you go from a cool concept to a finished package? When you sit down to build it, how do you structure a hybrid coaching offer that clients are excited to buy?
It can feel like you’re trying to assemble furniture with no instructions. You have all these great ideas for templates and support, but you’re not sure how they fit together.
Totally understandable. But I promise, it’s simpler than you think. You just need a framework. Let’s dig in, shall we?
So, What Exactly IS a Hybrid Coaching Offer?
This is my favorite business model, and for good reason. It’s the delicious sweet spot between pure 1:1 coaching and full-on “done-for-you” services.
Think of it like this:
- Coaching/Strategy is like buying a cookbook. You get the expert recipes, but you still have to go buy all the ingredients and figure out the cooking techniques on your own.
- Done-For-You (DFY) is like hiring a private chef. They do everything, and you get an amazing meal with zero effort. It’s a premium service for a reason.
So where does the hybrid model fit? It’s like a high-end meal kit. You get the chef’s recipe card, but you also get all the pre-chopped veggies, special sauces, and perfectly portioned ingredients. You still cook the meal, but it’s faster, easier, and way more fun. You get a brilliant result without all the hard prep work.
This kind of offer is a win-win. It’s more scalable for you than pure 1:1 work, and it gets your clients faster, more tangible results than just coaching alone. It’s how you build a more sustainable and profitable business.
Step 1: Get Clear on Your Big Promise
Here’s a mistake I see a lot of smart people make: they start by thinking about the stuff. The PDFs, the templates, the videos.
But a great offer doesn’t start with the stuff. It starts with the person and the promise. Before you create a single thing, you have to get bonafide clear on who this is for and what it will do for them.
First, define your one ideal person for this hybrid package. And I mean ONE person. “Entrepreneurs” is not specific enough. Is it a brand new course creator? A photographer five years into their business? A consultant who feels stuck?
Once you know who you’re talking to, pinpoint their specific ‘before’ state. What is the deep frustration that keeps them up at night? What have they tried that hasn’t worked?
Then, get crystal clear on the tangible ‘after’ state you can deliver. What does their life or business look like after they complete your program? The more specific you can be about this transformation, the more irresistible your offer becomes.
Step 2: How to Structure Your Hybrid Coaching Offer with a ‘Results Roadmap’
Okay, friend. You’ve got your big promise. High five! That’s the hardest part.
Now, we build the path your client will follow to get that result. I call this the Client Results Roadmap. It’s the step-by-step curriculum for your hybrid offer. A clear results roadmap is the backbone when you structure a hybrid coaching offer, turning a big promise into a believable plan.
Think about it. If you promise to help someone get their first 5 freelance clients, what are the exact steps they need to take?
Maybe it looks something like this:
- Milestone 1: Define Your Signature Service & Pricing
- Milestone 2: Create Your Portfolio & Testimonials
- Milestone 3: Build Your Simple 1-Page Website
- Milestone 4: Master Your Outreach Strategy
- Milestone 5: Onboard Your First Client Like a Pro
Breaking the big transformation down into 3-5 manageable milestones does two fabulous things. For your client, it eliminates overwhelm and gives them confidence. For you, it streamlines your workflow so you can deliver an amazing experience every single time without reinventing the wheel.
Step 3: Plan Your ‘Done-For-You’ Assets (The Shortcut Kit)
Once you have your roadmap, now we can think about the stuff. This is my favorite part!
These are the “done-for-you” assets that make up your client’s shortcut kit. They are the pre-chopped veggies and special sauces from our meal kit analogy. A consultant can use a deliverable asset planner to list out the templates and guides that form the core of a hybrid coaching offer.
Look at each milestone on your roadmap and ask this one simple question: “What can I create that would make this step feel like a total breeze for my client?”
Let’s use our freelancer example from above.
- For Milestone 1 (Define Your Service), you could provide a Pricing Calculator spreadsheet.
- For Milestone 3 (Build Your Website), you could offer a Canva or Squarespace template.
- For Milestone 5 (Onboard a Client), you could give them a pack of email scripts.
These assets are what make your offer tangible and incredibly valuable. They’re the shortcuts that help your client get the win faster and with less friction. Wins all around.
Step 4: Choose Your ‘With-You’ Support Model
You’ve planned the “Done” part of your offer. Heck yes! But what makes it a premium experience is the “With-You” part.
This is your guidance. Your expertise. Your support. This is what ensures your clients actually implement the materials and get the result you promised. It’s the secret sauce that justifies a higher price point.
So, what kind of support will you offer? Think of it like a menu. You can mix and match to create the perfect package.
Here are a few popular options:
- Kickoff Call: A 60-90 minute 1:1 call to start the engagement with a personalized strategy.
- Group Coaching Calls: Weekly or bi-weekly calls where clients can ask questions and get feedback.
- Support: A private Slack or Voxer channel for quick questions and check-ins between calls.
- 1:1 Check-in Calls: Shorter, scheduled calls to review progress and overcome roadblocks.
Your level of support should match the price and promise of your offer. A high-ticket, intensive program should have more high-touch support than a lower-priced, more DIY-style offer. The key is to be explicit about what’s included and to set clear boundaries around your time and availability from day one.
Want to Build This the Easy Way?
I know. Mapping all this out can feel like a lot of work. It’s easy to get stuck staring at a blank Google Doc, trying to figure out where to even begin.
But you don’t have to do that.
You don’t need to invent this process from scratch. All the worksheets, planners, and guides for everything I just described already exist, waiting for you.
You can map this out on a napkin, or you can use the step-by-step planners and worksheets inside The Done-With-You Offer Blueprint to get it done this afternoon.
